Background Information

eReaders, also known as eBook readers, are technological devices that allow the user to read books, magazines, and newspapers in digital format. They are available with variety of features including color LCDs, touch screen, and electronic ink. Some tablets are marketed as eReaders, but are not dedicated readers and offer additional features.

Notes:
Both Nook and Nook Color run on Android technology. Both also offer a basic web-browser to surf the internet. The Nook's 16-level gray-scale display makes the text appear like a regular book. The Wi-Fi version works with any Wi-Fi connection. The 3G connection, while being a bit more expensive upfront, offers free 3G connection through ATT wireless. The navigation panel is color and touch sensitive.

Nook Color has a back-lit display, and has the ability to run animated e-books. Barnes and Noble offers many children's books in the format, and the books can be read aloud or the child can read the book by him or herself.
